A day of rest! Yes much needed rest! My hubby and I spent today celebrating his birthday. From sleeping in…to brunch…a movie and then a movie night at home. This is my first night away from homework since two weeks ago! It is much needed! I am still doing a bit of writing but I didn’t realize how nice it was to just relax with my husband!
You know I have said it many times! Priorities!!!! You have to have priorities! I love my homework, I love my writing, I love reading articles and I really enjoy working in my office. But you know what…..my family, my husband…I love him more. You know I say sometimes I am sacrificing so much going to school. Many nights, in fact most nights, I am in my office. Most days after work and after a nap, I am writing, reading, and researching. I spend little time with friends and in all honesty my social activity for the week is usually church on Sunday. But you know what, my sacrifice is matched to my husband.
My husband first and foremost has to understand living with a wife who has Rheumatoid Arthritis/ Lupus and Fibromyalgia. That is a major adjustment (as I’m sure you know)! He has to understand the fatigue, the pain, the lack of desire sometimes to do anything but sleep. But on top of that he supports my decision to study. He works so hard during the week so I can work part time. He comes home and cooks dinner, cleans house, and makes sure I have snacks for class. He does the laundry and the grocery shopping. He helps open bottles, turn shower knobs, and takes care of our girls. He sacrifices his time, a wife who spends more time in her office than in her kitchen.
It sounds so trivial, but I am very blessed! Do we always agree? Do we always see eye to eye? Has our marriage been perfect! No it hasn’t and no we haven’t….but we are marching along one day at a time. And so today I have been reminded of how thankful I am to have him in my life!
We have been together since 2006, it seems like a lifetime ago! Tonight I have truly enjoyed eating at Ihop, watching the new Superman movie, and now watching Major Payne as we chill together on the couch.
Thank you God for my husband! Bless this new year of his life! Bless our marriage as we grow more together and I pray that we grow together as the years go by!
Happy Birthday Sweetie! Mucho Amor!
